What happens during an assessment?
An assessment, which is done at home, involves a comprehensive history being taken for the child. Following this an examination and observation is done with a parent present. For an older child, who prefers to be seen alone and the parents are in agreement and a consent form is signed, the assessment can be carried out and all findings and planned treatment will be discussed with parents.
Throughout the assessment, explanations and observations are made to allow better understanding of the problems and solutions for both parent and child.
